The 2024 International Writing Competition on Mediation in Vietnam has officially concluded, serving as a pivotal event for sponsoring mediation development in Vietnam. With the generous support of the Weinstein International Foundation, ANT Lawyers, and the Vietnam Effective Commercial Mediation Center (VEMC), the competition celebrated significant milestones in promoting mediation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) among Vietnamese students.  

Promoting Mediation Through Nationwide Engagement  

The competition attracted 198 participants from across the country, showcasing the growing interest in sponsoring mediation development in Vietnam. This initiative provided students with the opportunity to explore mediation’s role in resolving disputes effectively.  

Top Universities by Participation:  

  1. Hanoi Law University: 58 participants  
  2. Ho Chi Minh City University of Law: 43 participants  
  3. University of Economics and Law (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City): 23 participants  

Geographical Representation:  

– Hanoi: 111 participants  

– Ho Chi Minh City: 83 participants  

– Additional participants came from Hue, Da Nang, and other provinces, emphasizing the event’s national scope.  

Breakdown by Academic Year:  

– Fourth-Year Students: 81 participants  

– Third-Year Students: 55 participants  

– Second-Year Students: 33 participants  

– First-Year Students: 17 participants  

Sponsorship as a Catalyst for Mediation Development  

The event underscores the vital role of sponsorship in advancing ADR practices. The awards ceremonies, held on January 2 and January 3, 2025, at the VEMC headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, celebrated the exceptional contributions of participants.  

Prize Winners:  

– First Prize: VND 25,000,000  

– Second Prize: VND 10,000,000  

– Third Prizes: VND 5,000,000 each (two winners)
