If you are among those who received confirmation, you are officially admitted to the competition and are invited to take the next step to join our Global Kickoff event to be held virtually on Sep 25th, at 21:00 Hanoi Time.

This event will bring together admitted students, senior mediators, and past winners from around the world for an inspiring and informative start to the competition.

What Will Happen in the Global Kickoff Mediation Competition Meeting?

The kickoff is designed to give participants a strong foundation as they prepare for the competition. Highlights include:

Welcome and Orientation
• Setting house rules to ensure smooth participation
• Introduction to the Weinstein International Foundation (WIF)
• Overview of the role of Senior Fellows and their contributions
• Competition introduction and goals

Vision and Purpose
• The history and growth of the International Mediation Writing Competition
• The purpose of building the next generation of mediation leaders
• The future of mediation and mediation advocacy around the world

Senior Fellows’ Insights

Each WIF Senior Fellow from across the globe will share personal “pearls of wisdom”, offering quick introductions and insights from their journeys in mediation. Their experience spans diverse countries including Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Ecuador, Egypt, India, Kenya, Mexico, Moldova, Nigeria, Pakistan, Romania, Singapore, Zambia and Vietnam.

Meet Past Winners and Learn from Their Experience

Former student winners of the competition will share their tips on:
• How they prepared their submissions
• The challenges they faced
• How the competition shaped their focus on dispute resolution and career paths

This is also a chance for questions and answers, allowing students to engage directly with those who have walked the path before.

House Rules for Students

To make the event successful, all admitted participants are asked to:
• Rename themselves in Zoom as “First Name Last Name (Country)”
• Keep cameras on whenever possible
• Participate actively by raising hands or using the chat for questions
• Respect the schedule and maintain a professional learning environment

Why the Kickoff Matters

The Global Kickoff Meeting is more than an introduction. It is the first step in building a community of young mediation advocates worldwide. You will meet senior mediators, hear from Judge Danny Weinstein, and learn directly from students who have already succeeded in this competition.

This is your opportunity to prepare yourself not just for the writing submission, but for a journey into the world of alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
